This piece came to be because someone I love decided to begin her journey towards motherhood. Also inspired by the words of a song she used to sing, “The Rose” written by Amanda McBroom. To paraphrase; “Love is a river, love is a razor, love is a hunger, an endless aching need… Remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snow, lies the seed that with the sun’s love, in the spring, becomes the rose.”
