About Old Cedar Native Arts
Yá'át'ééh
A Navajo greeting meaning “It is good.”
Old Cedar Native Arts grew out of Birchbark Native Arts, a project I developed while working at Birchbark Books. When the opportunity arose to continue its journey, I chose to carry it forward because I believed its work was not yet finished. In 2023, ownership of Birchbark Native Arts was transferred to me, and I reimagined it as Old Cedar Native Arts.
My vision for Old Cedar is to create a place where people can discover authentic Indigenous art and handcrafted goods with confidence. I hope to share work that is genuine, thoughtfully made, and rooted in the diverse voices of Indigenous artists—honoring both tradition and innovation while encouraging a deeper understanding of Native art beyond stereotypes.
Today, Old Cedar features my own artwork and handcrafted goods alongside the work of fellow Indigenous artists. Every piece has been crafted with intention and chosen with care.
Thank you for visiting.
