Megan Schnitker

Megan Schnitker, owner and founder of Lakota Made, a family run company in Mankato, MN, grew up in South Central South Dakota and spent a majority of her life living in South Dakota. Her parents are Charles Wayne and Marla Bull Bear. Her parents have always been a strong foundation for her, providing her with Lakota teachings and traditions growing up. Her mom has had her own grassroots 501c3 for as long as Megan can remember. Her dad was a tribal game warden, a tribal police officer and town officer for Winner Police Department. Her dad is Nača Chief Bull Bear of the Kiyaksa Band of Oglalla’s of Pine Ridge, South Dakota. He comes from a long line of traditional spiritual leaders and teachers.

All Lakota Made products are small-batch made in their workshop. They use safe food handling practices, stainless steel equipment, and hold themselves to the highest of standards to keep a clean, sterile environment to produce high quality products. All products are locally sustainably harvested, made with filtered beeswax, organic sunflower oil, or organic olive oil. No preservatives, dyes, or perfumes are added. Essential oils are used, they are third party verified organic. All other ingredients are third party verified non-gmo, organic.

Megan is an Indigenous Traditional Herbalist. She says "I have no formal education in this other than my own research and learning from my elders.
