Welcome to the Old Cedar Native Arts Blogging Community!
Guidelines for Crafting Engaging and Informative Content
Are you passionate about Native American arts and culture? We invite you to join our blogging community and share your expertise with our audience. To ensure consistency and quality across our platform, please adhere to the following guidelines when submitting articles. By following these guidelines, you can create compelling and informative content that resonates with our audience. We look forward to receiving your submissions and sharing your insights with our community!
Article Length: Embrace Depth and Detail
Articles should be a minimum of 350 words to provide thorough coverage of the topic. In-depth content adds value to our readers and demonstrates expertise in the subject matter. At maximum, articles should be 750 words.
Title and Headline: Craft Captivating Titles
Titles should be clear, concise, and engaging, accurately reflecting the content of the article. A compelling headline is essential for attracting readers and encouraging click-throughs.
Subheadline: Break Content into Digestible Sections
Enhance readability with subheadings. Divide your content into distinct sections with descriptive subheadings. This improves readability and helps readers navigate through the article.
Call to Action (CTA)
Encourage reader interaction. End your article with a compelling call to action, inviting readers to engage with our community. Whether it's leaving a comment, sharing their thoughts, or exploring more content, encourage active participation.
Image: Enhance Visual Appeal
Include relevant images. Please include 2-4 high-quality images (jpg, png, or tif) or let us know if there are images on our website that you would like to include. We need to ensure we are adhering to copyright laws, so if the image is not on the website, it must either be a photo you have taken yourself or that you have the rights to. You can forward image use permissions to us via email after you have submitted your images.
Bio: Who are you?
We ask that all authors include a short biography (100 words max), as you want it to appear in the publication. Biographies should include your name, tribal affiliation (if applicable), your experience studying and writing about Indigenous topics or any other pertinent information.
Approval process
If we are interested in your blog post, you can expect to hear back from us via email. We will do our best to respond to each request as quickly as possible. However, due to our small staff size, please expect a turn-around time of 2 weeks. If you are selected as a guest blogger, we are offering a modest award payment of $100 to compensate writers for their good work. Please email carolyn@oldcedarnativearts.com for questions and submissions.
